North Fork Living: This Week’s Art Installation

Jul 17, 2015

It’s summer, and the livin’ is easy. When visiting the North Fork, you are instantly taken aback by the beautiful greenery, quaint homes, and local businesses. It is a place that embarrasses beauty and a sense of tranquility. One of my clients is currently in the final phase of accessorizing her summer home. The home was build on a beautiful stretch of water. The waterfront living is what drove the majority of the design throughout the home. Yesterday was a day for art! When it comes to art work, I call on Accetra Art. Anita is a very gifted art historian, whom I work closely with on my art projects. Together we discuss the style of the home, paint colors, client needs, etc. After our first discussion, we meet at the clients home where Anita brings artwork directly into the home. Through this personal meeting the clients are able to get a feel for the artwork and decide what pieces they love!

These spectacular pieces are called Glass Anemones. They are floating pieces of art. When you walk into the space your eyes get lost in the deep blues and Caribbean teals that hug the wall. They truly pull together this room that overlooks a scenic view of water.

The pieces above are subtle in color but incorporate great detail. We loved these because of the texture they portrayed, but most of all because they reminded us of waves.

On the wall below, we chose to go with a very traditional nautical look. We chose these prints of the ocean’s precious shells. We matted them in a striking cobalt blue and chose a wood frame that duplicated the wooden planks on the ceiling.
